Ventures

I've founded three companies. Noimos came first, in 2023, and it's the company behind the other two. Catwa.lk and EduCluster followed in 2026. All three are active.

Noimos

My software company, and the company behind EduCluster and Catwa.lk.

What Noimos does

Noimos builds its own products and software for clients. The products are EduCluster and Catwa.lk. The client work covers business applications, mobile apps for iOS and Android, ERP and other enterprise systems, AI integrations such as chatbots on websites and messaging channels, websites and e-commerce.

Selected client work includes MartianToBe, a Mars exploration community, and Mr.Tech eLearning, a platform for practical tech education in Sri Lanka.

Why it exists

Consulting alone has limits. Some clients need a team to build the plan, not only someone to write it. Noimos is where that work happens, and it gives my own product ideas a company to grow inside before they need one of their own.

The problem

Finding models in Sri Lanka used to mean phone calls, forwarded photos and unchecked social media accounts. Businesses couldn't tell which profiles were real, and models had no simple way to be found for the work they do.

What Catwa.lk does

Models create free profiles. A person on the Catwa team reviews each one before it gets a verified badge. Brands, agencies, photographers and studios search by location, measurements, type of work and availability, post castings, and message and book talent directly. There's no commission: models keep what they earn from a booking.

Catwa also runs creative services for businesses, including model selection, photography, creative direction, websites and social media.

What it's taught me so far

Marketplaces have a cold-start problem. Clients won't come without talent, and talent won't come without clients. Verification and a free, commission-free model are both answers to the same question: why would either side show up first?

The professional network for education.

The problem

Education professionals deserve a network of their own. Lecturers, teachers, consultants, industry specialists and students need one place to find each other, share what they know and find work in education. EduCluster is built to be that place.

What EduCluster does

EduCluster gives each member a public professional profile and a digital business card. Members connect on a newsfeed, message each other, and use a job board for the education sector. Universities, schools, institutes and companies can set up an organization and manage their people. There are also tools for running public-speaking clubs online, forms and polls, and articles published under your own name.

One EduCluster account opens a set of learning apps as well, including a vocabulary and grammar coach, A/L physics tools, and an interactive course on the history of money.

Why I'm building it

Education keeps pulling me back. Outclass was in education too, and EduCluster is where several things I care about meet: software for a sector I know, and a network with a clear social use.

Before these: Outclass

I wasn't a founder at Outclass, but it's where I ran technology for a young company. I was CTO from February 2023 to December 2024 and led technology vision and development for its UK booking platform for school students' extracurricular activities.

How I choose what to build

I'd rather start a company than write about one, which is part of why I chose startups over academia. I look for problems where software can make a visible difference to people's work, and where the result has a social use beyond revenue. Sustainability and social impact are part of that decision, not something added later.

I also try to keep the number of things I'm building small. Three ventures and a tech lead role at SSIPL is already a lot.
